Michael Johnson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R) who received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Throughout his career in mental health counseling, he has enjoyed working in a variety of inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, both in-person and via remote telehealth.
Michael primarily works with adolescents and adults who face differing concerns related to their mental health. He provides a comforting and non-judgmental space to his clients, allowing them to increase their confidence, overcome personal emotional obstacles, and reach their own specific therapy goals. Michael utilizes many different evidence-based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Trauma-Informed Care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Narrative Therapy, among others.
Michael has experience treating many issues, including but not limited to: – Anxiety – Depression – Behavioral management – Grief and loss – Life transitions – Parenting issues – Trauma and PTSD – Men’s issues – Sexually problematic and/or compulsive behavior – Behavioral management – Chronic pain and/or injury
When not working with his clients, you will find Michael spending time with his family, enjoying yard work, or watching his beloved Buffalo Bills every weekend in the Fall.
